HIV Speaks' Video Testimonials
North Carolina AIDS Action Network

We wanted to highlight as many advocate testimonials as we could during the events to capture the urgency in defense of HIV prevention and care support.
Raise the voices of HIV advocates in North and South Carolina who attended HIV Speaks on Jones Street and HIV Speaks on Gervais Street to make clear that ending the HIV epidemic rests on fully funding and expanding programs that support HIV prevention and healthcare.
We captured genuine stories that give more human and personal dimensions to why HIV activism matters in North and South Carolina. Sharing them with NCAAN’s audience demonstrates the organization’s commitment to empower individuals to demand action to prevent HIV transmissions and to keep people living with HIV alive.
AWARD RECOGNITIONS
Let Us Speak for Ourselves
Reinforcing the imperative to speak to power, these recorded testimonials provided another opportunity for advocates to share why this advocacy is personally meaningful and what’s at stake if nothing is done.
Let Diverse Voices Be Heard
It’s imperative that an audience sees that many walks of life are impassioned, motivated, and have been mobilized to confront policymakers who move away from public interest.
Social Motivations
Leveraging social media to motivate others to join in making a difference is essential for giving one’s call(s)-to-action the widest reach to an organization’s supporters. Furthermore, consistent demonstrations of advocates taking action boosts the organization’s credibility and shows how it lives its values.
